“It was a beautiful day at the beach, enjoying the warmth of summer. As I put on my one-piece swimsuit, I felt a familiar pang of disappointment; it didn’t fit right. I was frustrated with my weight and the choices that led me here. This wasn’t the person I wanted to be. I realized it was time to take control and embrace the vibrant life waiting for me.
I decided it was time for a lasting change, especially with my 50th birthday just a couple of months away. I revamped my nutrition, focusing on whole foods, reducing carbs, and saying no to ultra-processed items. My meals became vibrant with an array of vegetables, lean proteins, seeds, and nuts. Alongside these dietary changes, I embraced an active lifestyle. While I had always enjoyed walks and water sports in the summer, incorporating strength training was a new and empowering adventure for me.
Three months later, I had lost some weight and my energy was returning, though not quite at 100%.
